How much is the going rate for a cleaner?

So going to be moving to full time hours and we have decided to get a cleaner. Because I have always done the cleaning hubby is reluctant to pay for three hours a week in a four bedroom house. I feel any less and the house will become dirty. Hubby feels two hours a week or three hours every other week? I don't agree. Is the going rate about £11 in the east Anglia region?
Would love to hear your experiences of cleaners?

Here in SW London it’s £12ph directly to the cleaner, and you provide your own cleaning materials for them.

We paid our cleaner throughout lockdown and she responded by increasing her prices so we decided to do without. Our house doesn’t really look much different and I’m saving £400 a month Grin.

Well, if DH thinks it only takes 2 hours, why can't he do it? If he's not prepared to do it then he can STFU about it & be grateful the once again YOU are the one sitting it out.

No idea of the going rate in your area & time required will obviously depend on what you want done AND how tidy it is when the cleaners arrive.

We pay 15 an hour in Kent for 3 hrs a week. I wouldnt be without it but that's because she is good - we've had some rubbish ones!

We were paying £10 an hour in Norfolk. Flipping woman went and had a baby Flowers
Out of interest, how come he gets a say in how long to pay them for? Presumably he’ll be benefitting from your wages

Just recently gone up from 13 to 15 ph in SW. Two hours is enough to do our 4 bed house as long as everything is tidy.

@mydogisagentleman haha yes because he's paying half 😊
