Help me choose a car

I am looking for a new car to fit the following requirements:

  • Up to £10 000
  • No older than 2017
  • No more than around 30 000 miles

I don't want a super small car or equally something huge! Currently I've been looking at Citroen C3 (this looks quite large) or a mini (budget may be an issue). Any recommendations?

Do you need to be able to fit car seats in for kids?

I'd definitely recommend a Toyota Yaris. Not too big or too small, and very reliable.

How many miles do you do per year?
What sort of driving eg only pottering around or hundreds of miles on the motorway each week.
How many people/child are being transported in the car regularly? Dogs?
Other hobbies? Bikes?

Do you need to fit children in? Do you want petrol, diesel or hybrid? How many miles do you drive a year? What sort of driving do you do i.e. pottering around towns, country roads or motorways?

More information is needed

Kia?

Fiesta.

Get 5 doors if you have rear seat passengers.

Skoda Fabia, estate version if you need a bigger boot.

Sorry more info:

  • Car seats need to fit (no more than two)
  • Def 5 door

-Not fussed on petrol/disel/hybrid
  • Dog maybe in the future but this isn't a problem at the moment
  • Milage has recently gone up a lot - I probably drive 300 a week but not on motorway -town and country roads

Thanks for all the suggestions

Skoda Fabia stll fits the bill. Estate version for dog.

With children in car seats and possibly a dog in future, definitely a Skoda Fabia Estate and not a Ford Fiesta. The Fabia has more rear seat space and boot space.

Can you wait a while? I think (and have said on other threads) that used car prices will fall given the likely increase in unemployment.
