Bristol primary schools

We’ve sold our house but haven’t found one we want to buy yet so have agreed with buyers we will go into rented. This also means we can move anywhere in Bristol for primary schools, which we will be applying for this year. But, due to covid we can’t actually look around any schools. We don’t really mind where we move to and want to focus the move on primary schools. Our DS is pretty keen, has an IEP at preschool for speech, is very active and isn’t keen sitting around listening too much (not ideal for school!!!)

Any recommendations?

House prices in Bristol vary massively, you must have an idea of where you want to but based on budget? Or are you happy to drive the DC to school once you move out of rented?

*buy not but

Yes what is your house budget as that will help determine where you can live/schools etc.

It really depends where you want to live! Bristol isn’t a massive city but traffic is bad (therefore making travel across the city tricky) and house prices vary massively.

There are great schools across the city.

You need to pick area first.

We aren’t too fixated on a specific area, can go to about 800k. But would like a Nurturing school
With outdoor space!

Which area will you be working in? Crossing the centre is a nightmare.

What kind of vibe do you like?

I could suggest lovely schools in many areas but helps to narrow it down!

Working in St Paul’s, but my husband works more around north Bristol, happy to cross the city.

Ideally we don’t want to move out to the outskirts-
So ruled out places like portishead, Blackwell, almondsbury etc, we like the outdoors- go to Ashton court, Blaise etc lots! Boys love playgrounds! I like local independent shops, but not a huge fan of living near glos road, been there done that and hated the noise!!!

@OverTheRainbow88 sorry to revive an old thread, but what school did you decide for your boy? My girl, and our family values, are identical to yours and we are finding ourselves in a similar position i.e. able to choose anywhere, budget is also similar. Feel free to PM!
