I was always prepared for this possibility and feel ok about it really, but we'd planned and prepared for my dad and stepmum to look after DC1 while I was in labour so husband can be there and meet DC2.
They've gone into tier 2 and although I think childcare in labour is permitted as an exception they are reluctant as they feel its bending the rules. I completely understand if they aren't comfortable and have never expected help (in fact I have never had help with DC1 in three years) and was always prepared for this but equally feel a bit gutted as during original lockdown in March they were seeing my competent adult step brother in their house at least twice a week before support bubbles were permitted and when it was definitely against the rules, whereas I think labour support is probably permissible.
Anyway it is what it is so - anybody else in same boat?
