I am watching Strictly and in the top right hand corner , there is a symbol - a circle with a dot inside . What is it ?

Its a cue dot for the telly people to do something like and advert break or something else

As it was BBC so no ads, could it have been switching between live bits and pre-recorded? (Didn't notice it myself).
