Tropic Skincare: Anyone tried it? Just another MLM or worth buying?

One of the mums in DS’s class is a Tropic skincare rep and it seems that most of the other mums in the class are buying products from her and seem to think well of them, although as they have a personal link to the seller it would probably be awkward to say anything negative.

I’m pretty sure that Topic is a MLM company setup, which I tend to avoid where possible. From looking online, the products Also look a bit expensive... but if they are amazing then perhaps it’s worth it.

If anyone has tried the products I’d like to know how you found it and whether you think the cost is worth it or not. Thank you.

I like the products and I’m glad I bought them.

I have tried a few and the only ones I love are the face masks, the green one for skin flare ups is brilliant and the yellow one for tightening and brightening.

I was given a coconut soap and it smelt of sick. Didn't know at the time it was an MLM.

It is an MLM.

MiniMum97 · 18/10/2020 00:10

It is an MLM which is a shame as I've used their products for ages and they are amazing quite frankly on my super sensitive, rosacea and eczema prone skin. The only products I've used that work and don't cause a reaction and some of them calm my eczema and rosacea (their tamanu balm specifically for the latter). I also use some of their "anti aging" products now and they are also great and have transformed my skin.

I buy their products via a friend who sells them and she doesn't have much money so I don't mind supporting her as I'd buy them anyway, but you can also buy direct from their website if you prefer.

If you want to know more about the products I've tried and what I like, and don't like as much, happy to share more detail but don't want to be accused of being a Tropic rep or promoter so won't say any more unless you want to know!! :-)

I love tropic

What is MLM?

Whycantibetangy · 18/10/2020 00:41

The supergreens smells of curried socks but is amazing for my thirsty pore riddled skin, i also love the cleanser and skin feast.

I hadn’t heard of them before but wanted to support a friend who started selling it after she lost her job at the beginning of lockdown. I’m actually very impressed and definitely going to order more

I won't try them because it is an MLM and I find them to be a horribly unethical way of doing business. The "reps" lose money 99% of the time, yet are encouraged to pretend they're living the most amazing life ever.

HxC93 · 17/02/2021 12:26

MLM stands for "multi level marketing"
Which often comes with bad press. As far as Tropic is considered though, it is not an unethical MLM. It is not difficult for you to earn your initial investment back (which is to buy your starter kit and the products in that kit are worth far more than what you pay for the kit) and it isn't a company geared around recruiting. the main focus is the products, which are worth their price and are effective. All products are vegan and made from fresh, natural ingredients. They don't contain nasty, toxic preservatives which is why they cannot be sold in shops (because retailers like to hold products that dont go off)

Wish people would know what they are talking about before shaming companies, it is tiring to see all the hate.

I think we have similar skin, although my rosacea patch is tiny and doesn't really flare up.

Could you recommend a good everyday moisturiser that works please??

Thanks

Hello

I use Tropic's tamanu balm on my face when my rosacea flares up and it calms it down within a few days. I wouldn't say it was an everyday moisturiser though. It's heavy and greasy and so I only apply it to my face on my rosacea patches during a flare. And I apply it at night.

If your rosacea is very severe though you might need something from the doctor to get it under control first. When I first got rosacea I used an antibiotic cream which floor it under control. I later discovered the tamanu balm which I use as soon as it flares (so it's not really bad). You can try of course but I can't attest to how effective it would be.

Tamanu balm is also great for the pompholyx eczema I get on my hands so I apply that at night also (every night) with a bit of vitamin e oil. That works better than the steroid cream which wasn't doing fuck all!! My hands look pretty good at the moment, no blisters 😊.

Other people say they like Tropic super greens serum for rosacea but I didn't get on with it but may be one to try.

Everyday wise, I use the Tropic ABC kit (cjeanser,, toner, moisturiser) each morning but at night I use the skin dream which is amazing! None of these aggravate my skin at all but not sure they "treat" anything as such thry just don't flare up my skin or cause breakouts or anything.

I also use the glow berry serum (vitamin c) in the mornings and twice a week the fruit peel. If I need extra moisture I also use the elixir occasionally.

The skin dream and the serums are mainly for anti aging/improving skin generally benefits which may not interest you but thought I'd tell you everything I use). Obviously you might be different in what works for you.

Tropic did have a 30 day refund policy if the product doesn't work on your skin.

Hope that helps 😊

@minimum97

Thank you, will probably try the skin dream.
