not knowing how to move forward (bereavement)

How do you move forward when you were unable to be at the funeral or the scattering of ashes?

I just feel like I have not been able to say goodbye and don't know how I will manage to without having had either of those two 'rites of passage' so to speak.

Can you create your own little ceremony? Perhaps plant a tree, read out a poem and some memories? Sure there’ll be some ideas online.

Sorry for your loss.

I don't know. it doesn't seem connected to the person really.

Visit the place where the ashes are, on a date that is significant to the deceased. What would have been their next birthday, or perhaps the anniversary of their death. Or a place that was special for them.

I can't, we aren't allowed to because of covid, that's why I wasn't there
