Not an 80s song (from 1973), but Summer (the first time) by Bobby Goldsboro has piano throughout and solo male vocals.

Lurking. Mn identified my song on less and I'm forever grateful. (it was lonely symphony by Frances ruffele)

I love that song. We watched Eurovision on a youth group retreat that year. That song is my favourite British entry ever. I had it on CD at some point. Now her daughters a singer. I can't remember her name right now though.
