Morning Mumsnet! What are you all up to today?

I'm just having my first cup of tea of the day. Seem to get up later and later since I can't work my Saturday job!

I want to cram all the boring stuff into this morning (so the washing, ironing, baking for pack-ups etc) so I can get my sewing machine out for an hour & spend some time making some Halloween decs with dd2, this afternoon. That way, tomorrow can be spent finishing off decorating the kitchen.

Their Nanna is supposed to be calling for a cuppa in the garden but it looks like it might rain so maybe not now 🤷‍♀️

I'm making pizzas for tea later on, accompanied by a Wine or two for me.

What about all of you? :)

Ripping out a very invasive ivy hedge. I hate the stuff.

DD is away at university so we don't have to out up with Halloween any more Grin

I’m still in bed with DH snoring beside me. I’m trying to talk myself into going outside for a run but it’s COLD 🥶 I have a new knitting pattern to start on today and a new book on my kindle so I’m feeling pretty positive about my weekend. What Halloween decorations are you making OP?

I had the best laid plans to clean the whole house today and get started on my new book while the kids are with their dad, but my daughter was up all night last night with stomach ache so I’m inhaling cup after cup of coffee and lying on the sofa instead!

@rincewindspotato I've saved egg boxes to make bats, & thought some ghost bunting or similar would be a fairly non-taxing way to spend a bit of time. I couldn't find any of those jelly window things in town so maybe we'll look for some pics we can use as templates to paint the front window as well (probably pumpkins).

Thrill as you discover aged jams! Gasp as you find a mustard jar older than your children! Wonder at the new life form created by 20th century chutney!

That all sounds fab, bet you’re dd will love it! You may have dodged a bullet with the window jelly decorations- I often find paint comes off more easily. Hope you guys have fun!

@FastAndCurious hope your daughter is ok. It’s always rubbish when things don’t go to plan, but use it as an excuse to give yourself a break Wink

Woke up at 6.30 and got annoyed with myself as its the only day I can lie in.

Today is quite a big day in a way. My dd has been unwell (mh issues) and today she and a boy friend are going go Karting. This will be her first adventure out, bar school. So I will drop them off there and I will have some me time for what seems like the first time this year, so I think I'll go browse the shops as I need new undies and can't buy them online. We have had a slow start into the spring weather, it's glorious outside today so later I will sit outside and enjoy that. I am not in UK and we had a heavy lockdown in a harsh winter so I need to sprout my wings a bit.

And we will have nachos for dinner tonight. Nice and easy. Smile

I woke up at 8:30. It was bliss : ) I'm going to hang loads of pictures today. We moved in 3 months ago and they've been waiting around in boxes since then. It ends today! DH is going to put up the shower caddy and clear out the gutters. Then we're going to get the Halloween decorations down from the attic, and spend all day tomorrow pottering at that.

The kids are going to bounce around like lunatics and probably spend a lot of the day in DD's new wardrobe.

Going shopping with mum in an hour Then at 12.30 it's the Liverpool Derby in a split red/blue household! This afternoon sort the washing out then look through the Christmas presents I have, make lists and see what is left to buy. I'm looking forward to Strictly returning tonight!

I’ve just cleaned the shower drain trap and enough long hair to make a new pet!

I’m going to need a BIG coffee after this.

Might clean the bathroom.
I had a weeks off work where I did nothing. It was bliss.
Last sunday dd tested positive for covid. She was fine by tues but we still have a week of house arrest to go.
Rapidly losing the will to do anything!

We are both defrosting the freezer cos one of us left it partly ajar last night. Hmm

Fetching newspaper and anything else my DM needs from local shops; putting on a mixed wash for DH and me. Calling DF who lives in the next country. Hanging clothes outside in the sunshine. Fish and chips this evening at my DM's house.

DC were up at 6.30 as usual! Had a cup of coffee while they played in my room.

Came downstairs and put on a movie which none of us watched.

DP went out to work.

I've cleaned the kitchen and made sausage sandwiches.

I've put in my Tesco order for next Friday.

Will probably be lazy for the rest of the day Smile

We're having a morning sitting about in pyjamas as both DCs were up for the entire night for various reasons and I had at best a couple of hours of sleep.

I'm gradually decluttering toys as they're playing with them and might take them out for a walk this afternoon to get some fresh air.

Fish and chips (homemade) for tea and gallons of coffee to get me through the day!

I am going to the model village in Mafra then to the Quiksilver shop in Ericeira for a poke bowl 😎

I do live in Portugal so it's only about 40 mins up the road though. Then we're having friends for dinner - only 2 though so we keep below the under 5 people together rule.

I got up before DH so having a nice coffee and croissant while watching shows he doesn’t appreciate (Frasier and Friends Smile)

Need to go into town later to take back a dress I got that didn’t fit me. Thrilling stuff!

I'm having the last viewing on my house before I take it off the market, if it doesn't sell today I'm giving in. It's only been on the market for a month but with covid ramping up again and people not realising that a five bed house is going to be too big for a couple on their own is wearing me down.

We were supposed to go football & craft session this afternoon but one of the kids is massively full of cold so DH has taken 2 to football before he goes to work & Im currently stuck under a napping kid.

Got to clean the kitchen & try & bake with kids today & probably do a little country walk.
