Requirements are:

Keeps drinks hot for 8 hours, I'd like to make a coffee at night and have it in the morning.

Absolutely 100% leak proof

Easy to drink from. I hate the ones you have to slurp to get the coffee out.

Bones points for:

Bright/colourful/quirky design

Collapsible

Available from Amazon Grin

Contigo Byron can do 5-6 hours without pre-warming. Not collapsible though. Definitely leakproof and available from Amazon. Also I've been bunging mine in the dishwasher and it lives.

Clim8 do a wonderful flask that keeps things nice and hot for ages - not sure for 8 hrs as never tested it. I’ve left coffee in there for about 4 and it was still piping hot. Not collapsible but definitely leak proof and I like the opening mechanism as the lid pops open with a button (there is a lock too). All easy to do one handed.

Oxo good grips travel mug. Has been amazing for not leaking

Another vote for contigo - definitely hot after 4 hrs, and nicely drinkable for another 3 or so.

I dont hink collapsible is a feature that goes with staying hot for a while - materials needed for each feature are different!

DesperatelySeekingSunshine · 17/10/2020 09:21

Contigo. Bought mine in Tesco’s. Coffee hot all day, and can just throw it in my bag after I make it in the morning.
Love it so much I went and bought more!

DelphineWalsh · 17/10/2020 09:27

Contigo. Not sure you'd get a hot coffee after 8hrs but its certainly leak proof. I've had mine for over 5 yrs and still good as new.

whoami24601 · 17/10/2020 09:37

I've got a thermocafe water bottle that does hot stuff too. Had a coffee in it for 8 hours last week and it burnt my mouth when I drank it! I would definitely recommend looking at the hot/ cold water bottles.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 17/10/2020 09:48

You won’t get collapsible AND keeps stuff hot for long, the different materials each needs do not lend themselves to both!

Contigos are absolutely brilliant and will keep it hot for hours and hours

Juniperandrage · 17/10/2020 09:55

another for contigo. Expensive but good

gerbo · 17/10/2020 12:11

Contigo stainless steel. Dh commutes and it's the best we've found.

RubaiyatOfAnyone · 17/10/2020 13:11

Contigo - used to make my coffee before commute, and have it 1ish nice and hot.

Itchybush · 17/10/2020 19:24

Ok so Contiga seems to be winning. Its not the most attractive of designs though. Has anyone had a Kambukka?

I have this one... it’s shiny and pretty!

Hazelnutlatteplease · 18/10/2020 09:13

My last two contigos have not been a sucess, liquid went cold very quickly. Nowadays I'd pick a thermos travel cup.

Still not pretty designs though

daisypond · 18/10/2020 09:19

Camelbak and Contigo. I have both. I don’t think they’d keep a drink hot for eight hours, though.

TheTeenageYears · 18/10/2020 09:44

I think you'll need more of a flask type than cup type for 8 hours. If you have a look on Thermos.co.uk they have a cup which lasts 8 hours but 3 different direct drinks flasks which stay hot for 10 hours. I can vouch for those, have a few older models and they do stay hot that long. There are also sold on amazon but details are clearer on the thermos site. You won't get collapsible- to stay hot that long it will have to be double walled metal.

TheTeenageYears · 18/10/2020 09:44

The cup on Thermos is 7 hours not 8

Crayolalala · 18/10/2020 12:55

I’ve been on the hunt for one too and Frank Green ones look good, as do Kinto. Really nicely designed and good reviews!
