I really don’t understand fully what this is. In fact I can’t get my head around the fact that it’s actually even real and not a Orwell/Huxley fantasy.

However I remember back at the start of the year the media took it all very seriously and reported it being 100 seconds to midnight, then the next thing we know 2020 has turned into a global and irreversible shower of absolute pure shite.

Does this possibly mean it’s not a weird crazy made up sci-fi thing by men in power who want total global control or is it just a coincidence?

I’ve tried reading about it but it fries my brain that something so ridiculously far-fetched actually exists in real life and isn’t made up by conspiracists.

Odd.

It is both. It is made up but also based on real events. The world is a bit shit at the moment. Deadly virus, climate change, Forrest fires, melting icecaps, floods, wars raging in the Middle East, Absolute nut jobs in power. 100 seconds seems quite generous.

It’s particularly shit. Like no one could have made this shit up type shit.

I wish it would all fuck off.

I’ve googled the experts who collaborate on this thing, and they all seem to be scientists who know what they’re talking about.

I wonder why, when this exists and people know about it, do humans keep on acting like such total dickheads? It seems much bigger than most things to me. Governments, world leaders, even mumsnet!

At a time like this it does bother me what will come next.

It’s from the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists. It is not ‘real’ in any meaningful sense.
