Unlocking an iphone - Vodafone

Does anyone know how long it takes to unlock an old iPhone from Vodafone to be used on a different network? I know I need a code from them but if I went into the shop tomorrow morning would it be unlocked same day? TIA

I googled it and did it myself. Took 5 minutes.

I googled it too and it said there’s a form to fill In and the NUC number is then usually sent within 72 hours. One firm then says that for an iPhone they have to get in touch with Apple otherwise every time you do an iOS update it will re-set to the original server. Though I don’t remember that from my previous phones.

It's usually within 24 hours. Vodafone do say they might have to get in touch with Apple but it doesn't take long.

3 weeks and I only got it then as I emailed the CEO. They are the worst company ever!

Is it best to go into the shop or fill in the online form?

Exclamation oh no, they are pretty awful I agree. I’m unlocking my old one to put a PAYG sim in for my daughter. 3 had deals for £5 a month - the same sim on Vodafone was £11! Shocking difference. Anyway, I totally forgot about the unlocking the phone element and put the sim in last night and it doesn’t work. I really hope it’s sorted quickly as it’s her birthday present for tomorrow and obviously this has all been shit enough!

Fingers crossed you have more luck than me. I found they all told lies and passed the buck as to who was to blame.
