Made one tonight and although it was nice it wasn't perfect. It consisted of:
Browned mince beef.
Chopped onion,carrots,swede.
Peas.

These were cooked in gravy in the slow cooker for a few hours then put in oven dishes with fresh mash on top until golden brown on top.

I need your top tips pls.T.i.a.

Soften/brown onions, then brown mince. Properly brown it, not just de-pink it iykwim.
Sprinkle over 2-3 tablespoons of plain flour, cook for a minute or so, then add 300ml of beef stock and a couple of tablespoons of tomato puree. Allow stock to thicken and reduce a bit. Top with creamed potatoes and bung in the oven for 25 minutes.

Pretty much that ^ except I add small diced carrot to soften, and peas later. And a grind of pepper.

Put wine and Worcester sauce in the gravy Grin

I make that one & it makes double so great to have in the freezer for another time. My hint is to cook it all in advance & only put it together once the meat has gone cold
