Too early for Christmas food?

Firstly I know there's a Christmas topic but I wanted a cross section of replies, not just those who plan early.
Normally I make sure we don't eat any Christmas food (mince pies, special crisps etc) until December to limit Christmas to one month (and to help my waist line). This year I'm thinking fuck it and start eating the nice food now. Apparently my lovely mil has already started on the mince pies!
I'll try to be sensible so I don't pile on the pounds, I'm already trying to loose the lockdown pounds, but I love Christmas food so much (had cheese and cranberry sauce on crackers for tea last night).

I don’t eat any Christmas food until a few weeks before Christmas Day. I feel like if you start eating it too early, it ruins the specialness of it.

But that’s just me. If you like it, go ahead and enjoy!

Ive been tucking into Aldi sloe gin mince pies for the last 2 weeks ... Blush

I suspect quite a few people will do this. My friend has already eaten some Christmas stuff.

I did look at the mince pies but as I am on my own I am not going to eat them now. I may put some in the freezer but actually as it is only me I don't have to go down the Christmas route at all, just buy what I feel like eating on the day.

I think all rules have gone out the window this year. May aswell just throw the tree up now

Tempting. So tempting.
The main thing holding me back is the knowledge that a pack of mince pies is half a marathon of calories.
It takes me 2:15-2:30 hours to run a half marathon. I could beat my 5k pb on a pack of mince pies Grin
