Long story short I have been having a bit of a nightmare trying to get the mental health team to sort a prescription for a new medication. Finally yesterday I was told it had been sent to the pharmacy but the pharmacy said they didn't have it. Today my CPN forwarded me the request, which was a copy of the FP10 which had been emailed to the pharmacy yesterday morning. One of the team PAs contacted the pharmacy who confirmed receipt. Rushed to get there before it closed after work and they deny having it. Eventually conceded that they had received it and it would need ordering for tomorrow (no problem).
I've just looked at the copy of the prescription and it has no date or signature. They are legal requirements for dispensing a prescription I think but is that still the case if it's been sent electronically (but by email not on an electronic system?) I am tearing my hair out here because I have been chasing this for 3 weeks. They're not going to be able to dispense it for me are they?
