Pillow for neck pain

Can anyone recommend anything? I’m a bit dazzled by the choice. I have disc problems in my neck and back, plus according to the osteo a “chronically tight levator scapulae and cervicogenic headaches“.

I have neck and back problems plus TMJ dysfunction. I've tried 8 different pillows before finding this one. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00IMFWKGW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share&tag=mumsnetforu03-21

I've tried everything from nothing to £100 tempur pillows and this one has honestly changed my life.

Ooh ok how long have you had it? Some of the reviews say they lose their shape quickly

4 weeks and no change so far! My husband loves his tempur so if it does go flat I'll just use the other one :-D Honestly I've tried different heights, fillings, shapes and this one is a game changer.

Thanks Have added them to my Amazon with list

Paddingtonthebear · 15/10/2020 22:01

Out of interest what else have you tried?

I've tried a regular tempur one, a shaped tempur one, a IKEA memory foam that had a gap in the bottom for your shoulder (cant think how else to describe it!), basic one from Next, a side sleeper from next, m&s duck feather, a bounce one from Silent night and a random one from TK Maxx. Then my holy grail!!

I got this from M&S and the horrific headaches I was having due to a neck problem stopped literally overnight.

Interesting!

This. Cannot tell you how many pillows I have tried for neck pain. Ironically the most comfortable thing I've tried is the brace they strapped me in for the MRI 😂 but I love this pillow.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 15/10/2020 23:05

I bought one of these. Its not for sleeping with but really helped with neck pain and headaches.
Then i bought a side sleeper pillow but can't remember which brand. It changed my life

Sparklyring · 24/10/2020 19:11

@Paddingtonthebear How are you getting on with the pillow?

Paddingtonthebear · 24/10/2020 19:26

Umm, well I thought it was going ok. But I have in the last few days developed quite a heavy, stiff neck. But also a slightly scratchy throat. So it could be a cold, it could be the pillows or it could be covid ConfusedGrin

OP posts:
Sparklyring · 24/10/2020 19:40

Oh no!! Hopefully just a cold then it will go away and the pillow will still help your neck?!

Paddingtonthebear · 24/10/2020 19:48

Hope so! It could well be the damage from working from home since July

Very possibly! My husband has since Feb and is having a hell of a time with his shoulder
