Same. Collecting cones and glittering them up for Christmas.

Painting acorns

Adventure walks. Literally just taking my dd the big country park and pretending to be lost up new paths so DD can rescue us by finding the way back the main path.

Baking cakes and biscuits and letting her decorate them.

Not sure what else we can do.

Currently, we're in a tier 2 restricted area and we are going to go on our booked caravan holiday and go for long walks and go biking and just relax for the week.

If we get jettisoned to level 3 we're going to watch movies, plays games and mainline hobnobs and wait for the whole thing to blow over.

We are going to plan and have a Halloween festival week:

  • make Bonfire toffee
  • make garlands of autumn leaves and string them up
  • Halloween decorations
  • create a playlist if spooky music and perhaps record some spooky music ourselves (our electric piano has an organ mode)

If it is not raining, we will go walking in the local woods a few times I expect. We might collect twigs and try to make a broomstick for Halloween.

One evening we will probably have a Family Movie Night, with popcorn and pizza and something on Disney+, and we might try to have a Board Games Chanpionship and see who can win across the week as a whole.

Have joined a Facebook group which is sharing ideas. Some really cute ones but it's quite new. It's called play for a rainy day.

Crying. And counting down the hours until wine.

I’ll take a look at the Facebook groups

Tidying bedrooms, going through toys to see what's broken or what can be charity shopped/passed to other friends' DC/jettisoned to outer space to make room for Christmas presents*

Lots of walks on the beach or in the mountains, copious flasks of hot chocolate or tea, sandwiches. Take a bag for "treasures" we find (we've found Lego on the beach before, sea glass, shells, pine cones from the hills , interestingly shaped sticks etc).

Make a big den in the frot room out of boxes and blankets, decorate with fairy lights and the aforementioned "treasures" .

Watch films, play games, teach ds how to cook.

  • Sorry for mentioning the C-word before Guy Fawkes Night!

I've been saving jam jars to do this in half term theimaginationtree.com/harry-potter-potions-class-science-activity/

We're in tier 1 but thinking we might move to tier 2. I dont think it would make any difference to our plans.... its only meeting indoors isnt it which we dont do anyway!

Our half term will look fairly normal for us. Lots of adventure play areas and country parks, walks, national trust places, hot choc on the beach, bike rides, baking, craft, lego! Movie nights
