Breathless and exhausted

The last 2 days I've had a typical cold and carried on as usual. This morning I have no energy and my chest feels tight and I feel short of breath. I don't have a cough and don't think I have a temp but just feel rubbish. Work tomorrow and not sure what to do. I get anxious about falling ill so that may play a part in the chest tightness & I had pneumonia this time last year. Otherwise fit & well.

Call 119 and ask for advice.

I would think about a Covid test. I didn't have much of a cough at first but had a tight chest and was exhausted

Ok thanks. I'm going to try and get up and have some toast and a drink and see how I feel then decide.

Hope you feel better soon whatever it is xx

rewild · 15/10/2020 20:09

@wildthingsinthenight did you develop a cough? I don't feel any worse but still feel exhausted and tight chest. I'll wait and see how I am tomorrow before considering a test.

I just tested positive, initial symptoms were exhaustion, body aches, headaches, slight feeling of an irritated airway, no cough, no sore throat. Developed a mild cough, then had intermittent fever with body aches and joint pain. Feeling a bit rough at the moment.

I only had a slight cough and not much of a temp. Tight achy hot chest, breathing felt strange and powdery. And exhausted

I've just tested positive following a routine hospital swab.

I was there after medical advice but none of the medics suspected Covid. I was being investigated for potential blood clot on my lungs.

My symptoms were tight chest, fast heart rate and sky high blood pressure. The tightness was just starting to make itself known early last week and became more noticeable by Thursday/Friday. By Monday I was a bit concerned that a very light cold I'd had a week before might have gone to my chest - normal for me after having pneumonia years ago.

After 3 days of investigations I tested positive whilst still in hospital having tests and treatment.

I came home yesterday. I started with a cough last night which is worse today.

At no point before did I have a cough. Also not had a high temperature or loss of smell/taste. Only other potential symptom I can think of is that I had some pains in my legs at the weekend - I have arthritis so some pain isn't unexpected though it wasn't in the usual spots. Another reason why they investigated blood clots.

All my blood work were normal and my chest x ray was clear. Whilst the rate was fast my ecg was normal, as was my SATs.

Since getting a cough last night I have a near constant sensation of some liquid or musics as the back of my throat, but the cough won't bring it up or lodge it.

rewild · 15/10/2020 22:15

Good to know, thanks everyone. I'll stay off tomorrow and see how I go. Chest feels strange, tight and uncomfortable and breathing feels like more effort.

@Aragog I had pneumonia last year and I think that's what's making me worry. The feeling in my chest is a reminder and I dread feeling that unwell again.

Fingers crossed for you that whatever you've got. Where Covid or not, it doesn't get much worse.

My chest and breathlessness is very similar feeling to the pneumonia feeling when I was in hospital last time, but I do know that in hospital this time my lungs were clear and all my bloods were normal. It's not got any better yet but it's no worse either at this point. The coughing is no where near as bad as with pneumonia, just the tightness and the breathing. I've fingers crossed this is as bad as it gets for me.
