Axkid Minikid or Move

Hi. I am looking at buying either the Minikid or move but unsure which one to get. The seat won’t need to be moved out of my car once installed, so the self adjusting tethers on the Minikid won’t really come in useful as it won’t ever be removed. The seat is for my son (10 months old, 50th centile for weight, 75th for height), once he outgrows his infant carrier. Am I right in thinking the highest head rest setting is the same height for both? Is the Minikid worth the extra money? Any advice would be a big help. Thank you.

We’ve got both and if you can stump the extra for the Minikid, get that one. The Move is fab and lasts the same time / to the same height but adjusting the headrest is a PITA - the self-adjusting headrest on the Minikid alone is worth the extra.

If you have limited space in the car, the minikid will be worth it because you can use the in between recline settings. The move is only very reclined (taking up more space) or very upright. The in between settings can be a godsend if you're trying to squeeze every last centimetre out of the installation.

You could also look at the britax max way plus which is on offer at the moment for a really good price.

Thank you for your help, I think I might just stick with the Minikid. We need a car seat for both of our cars so it’s going to be expensive!!

The move is on offer at the moment if that helps sway you. Until 1st November I think.

If you don't have space issues and don't mind the headrest adjustment (which you'll probably do about once a year) then it's just as good a seat. Install in reclined position until child is around 2 and then upright after that.

And as said max way plus for £215 is a steal :) same plus tested safety, easier headrest adjustment than move, side impact protection and same 25kg limit. (I also shallowly like the colours!)

I saw the move was on offer so that’s why I thought about that instead of the Minikid. We have struggled to find a seat that fits in my Mazda 3 and the Minikid is perfect, so much space left for the front passenger. I did look at the Max way plus but I needed to try it in my car before i bought it and there’s no where near me that sells it!

Ah ok, yes, that's a bit of a problem.

The move and minikid are the same size, it's just the in between reclines that you have the option of with the minikid.
