Just that- want to get back into reading but obviously don’t want it to be a chore.
Help me find some good easy reads for starters
Thanks!

I find the Robert Galbraith Strike books proper page-turners. The latest one's a huge doorstop though, so I read it on Kindle.

Worriedsick3000 · 15/10/2020 03:14

Sophie kinsella or celia Ahern

Pyewhacket · 15/10/2020 03:26

Rosamunde Pilcher. Start with The Shell Seekers..

Blondie1984 · 15/10/2020 03:36

Dawn O’Porter’s books are really good and so are Danielle Steele

This is going to hurt by Adam Kay
It's quite a quick read but hilarious and eye opening. A real must read and re-read and lend it to everyone you know.

Christopher Brookmyer's books are funny and fast paced so I'm always wanting to read more. Also lots in charity shops!

To me page turners are thrillers/mysteries. If that's what you're looking for then I recommend:
Blood Orange by Harriet Tyce
Miracle Creek by Angie Kim
Gillian Flynn - all of her books are brilliant but Sharp Objects was my favourite

For lighter reads I would recommend:
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
The Trouble with Goats and Sheep or Three Things About Elsie by Joanna Cannon
Any of Graham Norton's novels

Mollypolly2610 · 15/10/2020 20:15

Marian Keyes will make you laugh

Merrz · 15/10/2020 20:29

Cecilia Ahern

Twospaniels · 15/10/2020 21:06

Ruth Jones (she co wrote Gavin &Stacey). Has a new book out, and has written one beforehand too.

I’ve just read both of them and they were easy going.

The shopaholic books are super easy to read and so entertaining and funny.

I didn't know about Graham Norton's fiction until yesterday, when I heard him being interviewed on the Blindboy podcast. It was refreshing to hear Norton sounding normal and talking about writing instead of simpering to A listers on his show. I might just give him a go now, I need to start reading again.
