Where do you think would be a nice place to live that’s hot and has a nice sandy beach ?

New Zealand

Pedallleur · 14/10/2020 21:49

New Zealand isn't really hot. Poss Western Australia, Perth or Southern California. Azores or Canary Islands. Southern France would be ok for me

JoJoSM2 · 14/10/2020 21:51

I only like heat on holidays. I couldn’t cope with a day-to-day life in hot weather. If I had to choose a place to live, I’d probably stick to Europe.

Maldives is my top pick for beaches. Really hot too if that’s your thing.

Wheytaminute · 14/10/2020 21:52

I'd be happy with Lanzarote or northern Tenerife.

I love northern California - I love to visit but couldn't live there (Trump/Guns/Crime/Taxes/Healthcare costs)

Neither place is hot hot hot - but warmer than Northern England for sure.

Costa Rica

PARunnerGirl · 14/10/2020 22:09

Spain, but the north west. Probably Asturias or Galicia. Green and beautiful and not overwhelmingly hot like the main tourist areas in the south.

HowFastIsTooFast · 14/10/2020 22:16

Costa Rica, no question about it.

mrswarthog · 14/10/2020 22:18

Southern France - Perpignan to Argeles or anywhere in Var, Frejus, St Raphaël or Cannes.
Spain, anywhere in Catalan. Although Girona, Sitges & Vilanova are my favourites.
Italy, Sorrento
Israel, Eilat or Tel Aviv up to Caesarea

Guineapigbridge · 15/10/2020 01:47

Cook Islands. Close to home and consistently warm but not too hot.
Northland, NZ.
Or, at a push, Byron Bay or North of Sydney in Australia.

grassisjeweled · 15/10/2020 01:57

Meh, not keen on the heat

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 15/10/2020 02:38

Beach doesn’t have the best views - Singapore

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 15/10/2020 02:52

I’m not keen on heat, but if I had to choose, Costa Rica. I wouldn’t mind trying Belize either- although I haven’t visited there so don’t know much about it ( have heard good things).

KoalaRabbit · 15/10/2020 03:09

Not keen on heat, love Costa Rica but would probably go with somewhere like Far North Queensland in Australia in an area with plenty of wildlife and access to Great Barrier Reef.

Pyewhacket · 15/10/2020 03:15

Worked in The Gulf and Florida. Hospitals were air conditioned but the weather was oppressively hot. I'm a redhead so I used to lobster-up really easily. I was glad to get back to the UK and I never complain of the rain. That said I did a short term contract in Honolulu, really enjoyed that. Got severely pregnant tho.

Scrubsmum · 15/10/2020 03:16

Bali

Aebj · 15/10/2020 03:18

Love living in Western Australia but it gets cold in the winter. This is 800mtrs from my house. It’s going to be late 20’s this weekend.

I live in Cairns. Best place on Earth. But don’t underestimate the heat and humidity. It is summer all year round.
PolkadotGiraffe · 15/10/2020 04:40

Crete (the nice, quiet parts). Or the more remote Canary Islands that have far fewer tourists as there are no large hotels/ package holidays etc.

PolkadotGiraffe · 15/10/2020 04:42

@TheKrakening3 my worry with that would be what global warming will do to it in 30 years or so? Sad

PolkadotGiraffe · 15/10/2020 04:43

I love most places you have listed. Smile
BinkyandBunty · 15/10/2020 04:44

Bali for me too.

mathanxiety · 15/10/2020 05:10

It's not hot all the time, but Corsica has a lot going for it imo.

Mustbe3ormorecharacters · 15/10/2020 05:27

I have water front property in Florida, it’s almost perfect but it’s very humid and the civil unrest in America along with the seemingly out of control police makes me want to sell.
That being said I have never had a bad experience.

LesLavandes · 15/10/2020 05:40

Italy

HeronLanyon · 15/10/2020 05:55

Greece - somewhere deep south Peleponnese. Or southwest of kalamata.

Apartment in Cadiz (good city beaches).

Ibiza - santa Gertrudis or around Cala carbo.

Formentera - Cala Saona or Roca Bella but only if ferry to Ibiza still going regularly.

Southwest Sicily.

Northeast Sardinia.

East coast Deep South italy (except environment has become really shocking in southern Italy some beautiful places just rubbish strewn to levels I’ve never seen before - huge political problem - vowed I’d never go back after depressing time in Calabria recently whole areas just blighted. So I’d need a time machine back to the 60/70s for this I think.
