Ugh. I already knew Apple products are overpriced but I liked them for their aesthetics/design and how easy they are to use. I was eagerly awaiting the launch of the iPhone 12 as I'm currently using a 7 Plus and had decided to treat myself.
However.
I've just read that they're not including the plug part of the charger, for "environmental" reasons. Initially I thought, "no problem, I've got millions of the bloody things" . . . until I read further and discovered that the charging cable will be lightning connector at the phone end and USB-C at the plug end, which means it won't work with all my existing plugs (which are USB).
Having to buy a USB-C plug for a product that already costs over £1000 feels like the final kick in the teeth from Apple. It makes me want to buy a different phone . . . except that I have the entire eco-system. Apple Watch. Airpods. iPad Pro.
Am I trapped? Or will my Apple Watch and AirPods work with an android phone? And which phone should I get? I want a really good camera - that's probably the priority.
I'm about to end a ten-year relationship
