Can I do anything about my wonky face?!

I’ve always had a bit of a lopsided mouth and have hearing loss on one side so wonder if that’s related. I remember in early life my parents telling me to stop talking out of the side of my mouth! But I had no idea!

Anyway, over lockdown I’ve been doing a lot more video calls and aside from weight gain and aging 👍 I’ve also noticed my mouth looking even more wonky and I consistently speak out of the side of one mouth, plus when I talk or smile one side goes up and one goes down. It’s quite unsettling and I now feel really paranoid nobody in my life has told me this. Having said that if they had broached it I know I would have been upset and taken offence!

Is there anything anybody has experience with improving this? Botox maybe or is there physio exercises I could do? Or if desperate surgical options?

Thank you. X

I had Bell’s palsy as a teenager and have some residual lop sided- ness. It’s worse when it’s cold or when I’m tired, though it is becoming worse as I get older...

There are exercises on line, but I guess it will depend on the cause. If it makes you feel any better we almost all have asymmetric features, and it’s more noticeable on video I think as we’re not used to seeing ourself in this way. It probably isn’t anywhere near as bad as you think.
