I like Gold Dust by DJ Fresh feat. Ms Dynamite, it's drum n bass but very uplifting, it's on my Spotify playlist for when I do my ironing!
Also lots by Sigma, Wilkinson, Avicii, Tiesto, Chase n Status, etc

unmarkedbythat · 14/10/2020 11:10

Not a new song, because I am boring and don't listen to the right radio to be aware of most of them, but a new discovery for me recently was Scorpio by Pour Vous.

DrGachet · 14/10/2020 11:19

Grimes (the artist, not the genre) everything she does is brilliant, but is the song I'm obsessed with at the moment.

yetanothernamitynamechange · 14/10/2020 12:53

The whole of the new chicks album - but particularly (if I had to choose one) then this . But seriously, the whole of their new album is amazeballs.
Also, by contrast, (and I posted about this on a different thread so I don't want to seem like I'm on some wierd mission to plug them) but "I drank too much" or "if I could change my body" by Flo and Joan. Everything is going to shit at the moment so I need something funny to balance it.

yetanothernamitynamechange · 14/10/2020 13:00

Or actually maybe this is my favourite,

dazzlinghaze · 14/10/2020 13:02

I can't stop listening to this just now!

Redannie118 · 14/10/2020 13:08

I'll take Lonely tonight by Tim Minchin. Not one of his comedy songs but a beautiful song about love and temptation in a long term relationship.

ednclouda · 14/10/2020 15:07

the teskey brothers very soulful

and roisin murphy am liking a lot

Romemarie · 14/10/2020 18:15

Tonight by John Legend
Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac

Kote · 14/10/2020 18:25

Probably a bit hipster but I'm loving 24/7/365 by The Surfaces

Also Cardigan by Taylor Swift

badlydrawnbear · 14/10/2020 18:28

I basically only listen to Frightened Rabbit (which mostly makes me cry) or Frank Turner (mostly less depressing, his Be More Kind album has the songs that would soundtrack a movie of covid times)

yetanothernamitynamechange · 15/10/2020 12:45

This by contrast is my youngest's favourite song/video at the moment (they would happily watch it on repeat on youtube if I let them) I don't have the heart to tell them :(

bibbityb0bbityboo · 15/10/2020 14:27

Illicit affairs by Taylor Swift - it’s beautiful and I cant stop listening to it, even though it does make me cry! Sad

Ridingthegravytrain · 15/10/2020 14:28

Melody X by Bonaparte

dazzlinghaze · 15/10/2020 23:22

@bibbityb0bbityboo it's a great song, isn't it? I love belting out the "don't call me kid, don't call me baby" bit Grin

snowstorm2012 · 15/10/2020 23:25

At the moment I'm loving Chew on my heart by James bay and Demons by Imagine Dragons 👍🏼

snowstorm2012 · 15/10/2020 23:25

Needtobreathe - Bridges Burn

I bought an Ikea kitchen recently and they delivered a few wrong parts and didn’t deliver a few of the right ones. Having spent a long time this week holding on the phone to speak to customer services, I can really appreciate that their hold music is solid ABBA; and I have now heard their entire discography at least twice.

(Oh, and Ikea were fab at getting me my missing fittings no quibble!)

VetOnCall · 16/10/2020 01:31

Maria by Blondie
Common People by Pulp
Hung Up by Madonna
Chocolate by Snow Patrol
Girl From Mars by Ash
Infinity by Guru Josh Project
Stupid Girl by Garbage
Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) by Green Day
