What has your DH/DP done to make you happy today?

God knows we spend enough time complaining about them, but what have they done to make you happy today or recently?

DH tided the kitchen this morning so it was all lovely when I made lunch. Even though he was tired and not feeling well.

Both WFH, DH made me lunch and brought me tea - we normally get our own lunch between meetings so this was unexpected. Made me really happy!

longtompot · 13/10/2020 22:58

Gave me a much needed hug as I have been feeling really down today.

grassisjeweled · 13/10/2020 23:04

Emptied dishwasher

supersky · 13/10/2020 23:07

He bought me sweets yesterday which was nice but today we've both just been grumpy Grin

fitflopqueen · 13/10/2020 23:09

Took the dogs on his run this afternoon and then cooked dinner, empties the dishwasher every morning and if not too early brings me a mug of tea in bed.

Shinyletsbebadguys · 13/10/2020 23:09

Rang me from his hotel as he is away for work and talked to me as if he really wanted to chat about his day. I know that sounds strange but I was so used to perfunctory duty bound three sentences from exdh. Dp rang and wanted to discuss an email he had got about work and his reply , something on the news that affected us and he was genuinely excited for me that the new chorizo sausages I bought were amazing Grin. I like the fact that he likes to tell me about his day. Of course it was offset by his somewhat dramatic reaction to the news that ds1 wants a cat for his birthday (he isn't getting it anyway because I have decided no and I fully expected the reaction) Grin

I’m rushing between teaching in an SEMH secondary school with students who are even more anxious and off the wall than ever with all the disruptive and vague educational announcements and caring for my mother who has advanced dementia, whilst try to chose a care home for her to move to during a pandemic. My DP is a semi-professional football referee and is out at a game tonight. He’s just messaged me to say he was bringing home the mini bags of Haribo they had been given for me. I cried.

(DP has been incredibly loving, patient and generous throughout everything with my mum and has done much grander things than this but that little gesture that he is thinking of me meant so much)

Stompythedinosaur · 13/10/2020 23:10

Got up to start getting the dc ready for school while I had an extra 15 mins in bed.

Made me pasta for tea and did the washing up.

Complimented me on my knowledge of academic research in a particular field.

Fifipop185 · 13/10/2020 23:12

Knowing I've had a rubbish day WFH and dealing with the DC's, he brought KFC and wine home.

madcatladyforever · 13/10/2020 23:15

Fucked off three years ago and stayed fucked off.

Lmao 😂

Painted the bathroom ceiling with anti mould paint.

Tidied smallest DS's bedroom and helped him set up some trains to play in there.

He does dishwasher, general tidying most days :)

Lay with DS2 who likes to be touching at all times so I could get ready for bed.

Sent me a funny video

iklboo · 13/10/2020 23:39

Brought me wine, made me laugh.

firesong · 13/10/2020 23:40

Went to the shop for me when I couldn't be bothered

Made a nice dinner Smile

Brought me coffee in bed

Houseworkavoider · 13/10/2020 23:48

Made sure that I have the best pillow and enthusiastically complemented the lazy dinner I cooked (chicken pesto pasta).
Other normal things like driving to pick dd1 up because it was raining and being affectionate to my cat despite her being a grumpy thing and scratching him. He’s a good egg.

Athrawes · 13/10/2020 23:50

He is stuck in the UK and I am in NZ and I haven't seen him since March. He messages me everyday to say good morning and good night.

Purplewithred · 13/10/2020 23:57

Made it clear he still really fancies me without expecting anything in return.

Was amazingly touched that I’d bought him an Echo Show for the bedroom to replace his dodgy and irritating £5 alarm clock.

@Athrawes that’s so sad!

Lisa78Lemon · 14/10/2020 00:04

Cleaned the kitchen, helped with bath time, played with DS & made him laugh lots.... he's a great DH :)

SingingSands · 14/10/2020 00:13

Made me lunch and sorted the online grocery delivery for tomorrow.

SkiingIsHeaven · 14/10/2020 00:19

DH came home early so got to walk the dogs together. He then picked up the kids from school and made dinner because I have too much work on at the moment. He tidied up and was generally happy and smiley.

Plus he was looking particularly hot this afternoon. Love a bit of eye candy.

MiddleClassMother · 14/10/2020 00:24

Made me a coffee this morning, made my day

wheresmymojo · 14/10/2020 00:35

Made my breakfast like he does every day

Made me a couple of coffees during the day even though he doesn't drink hot drinks

Went out at lunchtime to get me a vegan cheese slice from the bakery

Went back out before GBBO came on to get us dessert

Fed the cats even though it was my job this morning

Got all teary eyed watching the documentary on the rugby player who has now got MND which was very sweet (and we agreed to run a fundraiser for MND next year because he was so upset about it)

wheresmymojo · 14/10/2020 00:38

My DH is genuinely one of the nicest people I've ever met...

QuacksInTheDark · 14/10/2020 00:38

Bought me home some new trainers as he’d notice mine were worn out.
Gave me a superb shag before bed too. He’s on fire today. Snoring next to me now and I don’t mind one bit Grin
