Terrible Crash in Oxfordshire

Young Mum (29) & 3 kids (8,6 & 4) all killed. Dad & 18 month old baby critical. Can you imagine what the extended family are going through? And how the Dad will be feeling if he survives? Apparently the lorry driver escaped with minor injuries. Dreadful situation 😢

Terribly sad. Flowers

PattyPan · 13/10/2020 16:27

It’s so awful. My heart breaks for the family Sad

MalorieSnooty · 13/10/2020 16:36

I live a few miles from that spot. The whole road is a death trap and people drive like mentalists. There are very often deaths where the dual carriageway becomes single a couple of miles before.

Horrible tragedy Thanks

Kaiserin · 13/10/2020 16:45

Yes, I saw the news earlier, truly horrible.

Apparently it involved a truck. It usually does...

Mocktober · 13/10/2020 17:46

I saw this on a news site and thought how utterly dreadful it is. The poor family.

Marisishidinginmyattic · 13/10/2020 17:49

It's very sad but threads like this are so ghoulish. Imagine how the family feels? Imagine how the Dad feels? Ghoulish.

I hadn't heard of this but how utterly heartbreaking. This has made me very sad tonight. I hope the baby and Dad pull through but how utterly utterly tragic for the whole family. I have children the same ages and it just seems impossible that this can happen, although I know it could at any time.

NotYourDawg · 13/10/2020 19:13

it's not ghoulish. this is a discussion board and people can discuss current events that have upset them.

This is a truly horrendous incident and as many here are parents and avid social media users (the mum was an active Instagram parent blogger I believe) it will hit home how bloody fragile life is.

I also read they had recently had a house fire. how utterly horrendous for them, so much misfortune.

I can't get my head around how you would ever piece your life back together after such a tremendous loss.

Also, without knowing the details of what happened, the lorry driver now faces a lifetime of knowing that he was involved in such a tragic incident and the first people on scene - a chap who ran from his narrow boat to assist, they will never forgot what they witnessed. Let alone the impact on the people from the emergency services.

It's just too awful to comprehend.

TabithaTadpole · 13/10/2020 19:19

It is just so so sad Sad

ImaSababa · 13/10/2020 19:31

Just awful. No words.

ImFree2doasiwant · 13/10/2020 19:32

@NotYourDawg I was thinking that re the lorry driver, it's just horrendous all round.

What an absolute tragedy.

QuacksInTheDark · 13/10/2020 19:34

I’d hate to find my family’s tragedy being discussed like this.

lollipoprainbow · 14/10/2020 08:05

How much tragedy can some people take ? Life is so so unfair to some while others have such charmed lives, awful.

EternalOptimist7 · 14/10/2020 15:59

quacksinthedark people talk about things that have happened all the time. When something like this happens, it makes people think & surely there’s no harm saying how you feel & also counting your blessings. I met a friend today whose DH passed away very suddenly & we were saying how you have to grab each day by the wotsits because you just never know what’s round the corner.
