Does anyone have any idea how long this will go on for? I put in a refund claim 2 months ago for ds's switch console as it stopped working after 14 weeks. We bought it from Argos and they were absolute twats about it, refused to deal with me at all. Paypal have been dragging their feet a bit dealing with it, but 2 weeks ago they asked me to send it back to Argos and said they would process the refund when Argos acknowledged receipt of the switch. Since then it's just been sat saying it's under review again.

Anyone got any idea what's going on? Is it normal to take so long, I've never had to do this before so no idea of usual timescales with Paypal.

mine took about 4 months :-( and they ruled against me

Bremusa · 13/10/2020 11:57

Bloody hell 4 months Shock Why did they rule against you?

I'm mostly pissed off because paypal seemed to rule in my favour and now weeks of nothing. I'll never buy from Argos again after all this.

I had a dispute over something I bought on eBay (but from a "reputable retailer"). It was supposedly delivered - the carrier said it was delivered - but it wasn't. The company refused to deal with it or answer me, eBay were bloody hopeless and said that they believed the carrier (the Post Office) despite there being no evidence it was delivered other than the postman having signed for it! PayPal paid me back within three weeks. It was my only experience of using PayPal, but it was very positive - trying to resolve with the company / Post Office / eBay was useless and wasted two months+.

Another thing with PayPal - if you order from a dodgy site, they will send you something small, cheap and nasty.
If you tell PP you got the wrong item, their system marks you as having the goods and disputing the quality - often goes the retailers way with no human involvement.

You have to state Order Not Received - because what you ordered wasn't. (You can put what you did receive in the comments, it will be ignored) all they focus on is order not received and you should get your money back.

The retailer will likely tell you that they will refund your money but you have to close the dispute first. Ignore this, if you close your dispute PP don't care anymore and the retailer will not return your money.

Is there any other way of contacting them about the case other than the resolution centre?

I couldn't find one when I was looking

Im waiting on PayPal response too. bought item that wanst what it purported to be and srrived broken, and have reported it as that. Seller hasnt responded so far after 11 days. I'm hoping it goes my way as it was expensive considering I found the same thing for less the 10th of the price on ebay for exactly the same thing.
