Device to play music for 9 year old

I'd love to give my 9 Yr old daughter a present for Christmas of something she could play music on up in her bedroom. Just music, nothing else. Wouldn't want her to be able to send messages or anything like that. And I don't want it to be reliant on my phone in any way. Am clueless about modern technology. But I loved my cd player in the 90s..

I've got my dd a cd player for her 9th birthday. We have a lot of cds. It's second hand so cheap and I'm not worried if she moves onto something else in a year or two.

I've just had this conversation about dd for her 6th birthday because I'm fed up listening to the same 5 songs played through the tv Apparently Alexa is the answer but I won't have her listening in constantly in my house so i've put spotify on her kindle fire for kids. Only the free version so she does end up with some restrictions & adverts but it does the job!
