Where is all the Christmas stock?!?

Usually high street shops are fully Christmassed up by now.

My local M&S has not a roll of wrapping paper or a box of crackers to be found anywhere.

The usual section of 3 for 2 Christmas gifts, nowhere to be found.

Tesco has cleaning items and stationery in their ‘seasonal aisle’ Confused

Not a single pack of Christmas lights anywhere to be found in Homebase.

Is this the same everywhere? Would be really interested if anyone that works in Retail / Buying / Supply Chain Management has any insight on it......

I always think it's wrong to have Christmassy stuff in the big window displays before Remembrance Sunday (even though the stock might be appearing on the shelves)

All the superstores have Christmas stuff out round here. Don't go to the high street so don't know what's happening there.

My local B&M, Poundland, Morrison's and Boots has Christmas stock.

I've seen people raving about the M&S Xmas gin that comes in a light up bottle. I've not been in an M&S since August but surely that's not the only item?

BrazenlyDefying · 12/10/2020 18:16

Isn't it lovely?

One of the only benefits of this nonsense is that people haven't been able to start getting giddy about Christmas after the august bank holiday.

Long may it stay that way.

MJMG2015 · 12/10/2020 18:18

Are they? (normally all Christmassed up by now)

I haven't been anywhere near 'the shops' since well before the lockdown & have no intention of it.

I imagine most shops have been wary of ordering too much in case they have to close.

Its not even Halloween yet ffs

Cooltalkin · 12/10/2020 18:20

All the stock will be in containers at ports waiting for availability of haulage to take them to warehouses / shops .or on its way in from Far East ( mainly ) but probably first scenario

hettie555 · 12/10/2020 18:21

I've seen piles of Christmas biscuits etc in M&S.
Aldi has a big Christmas section.
I need to lose my lockdown belly before I can start on my Christmas belly!

CrunchyNutNC · 12/10/2020 18:21

I bought Christmas toilet roll in M&S last week...

I see lots of Halloween stuff everywhere and assume they need to shift that before they go fully Christmassy...

Daydreamsinglorioustechnicolor · 12/10/2020 18:24

Fenwick in Newcastle has its full on Christmas department up and running. I got a shock when I walked in that entrance and was smacked in the face with Christmas. It seems earlier than normal to me?

CoffeeNights · 12/10/2020 18:26

Was on Superdrug and they have a whole aisle of xmas stocks, loads if discounts for early buying too

gubbbbbddaaaa · 12/10/2020 18:26

Next!

Muffinhead12 · 12/10/2020 18:27

Our local boots has stocked some of their Christmas stuff recently. We found home bargains was the best by far. Our bigger home bargains had three aisles worth, including Xmas lights if that's what you're after.

M&S had nothing apart from the light up gin that has been mentioned and the odd biscuit tin/mince pies.

Tesco has snacks and some crockery/glassware but nothing else yet.

Wilkos has some bits although have not yet been in.

Haven't actually seen much Halloween stuff though thinking about it..

GameSetMatch · 12/10/2020 18:45

@CrunchyNutNC me too! I love the pine smell so stock up early.
