Cool small gifts for 16yo DD?

earlydoors42 · 12/10/2020 16:46

Hi, just shopping for my daughter turning 16. I just ordered a couple of Bath & Body Works hand sanitisers from eBay.

Does anyone have any other suggestions please? She likes fluffy socks, is there a particular cool shop or brand?! Or stationery or literally anything else?

Thank you!

My DD likes stationery from Typo and Paperchase, and, if you are able to get to a physical store, Flying Tiger.

The classic pastel highlighters. Burt's bees tinted or flavoured lip balms. Potted cacti or succulents. They used to like the sprays from Hollister, and the bralets from there.

Boba or bubble tea pearls
Starbucks/local coffee shop voucher
Lush bath bombs
Posh chocolate
Little cactus in pot

What about quirky food - my dd is a bit younger but I'm thinking of getting her some stuff like unusual flavoured Oreos and Pringles etc from American / Japanese food shops.

MrsPerfect12 · 12/10/2020 19:29

American sweets, you can get a decent box from Amazon.

ShaunaTheSheep · 12/10/2020 19:36

Glossier (brand) lip balm
Cacti
TK Maxx for fluffy socks
Did you get a cover for the hand sanitizers?
Aldi are apparently selling chocolate snowmen that melt into hot milk for hot chocolate (according to my 16yo DD)
Cute pouch for period stuff
Fancy shampoo and conditioner and styling products
Scrunchies
Post-its, coloured revision cards, coloured pens, anything from Paperchase
Metal water flask
Re-usable metal straws
Earrings

Powerbank for her phone? Check out the shop Typo, its fab for the stuff you're looking for I think!

spiderlight · 12/10/2020 20:06

Japanese sweets are very popular with all the teens I know. Mine is younger but loves random tat from Flying Tiger.

NeutralJanet · 12/10/2020 20:11

Does she like makeup? Revolution beauty does some quirky makeup palettes, I've got DD a hamburger shaped one for a stocking filler and I think there is also Friends themed palettes and a Disney range is coming out soon. Superdrug stock it. B&M also have some nice mug and sock gift sets in the Christmas bit.

8dayweek · 12/10/2020 20:16

Fenty lipgloss (Boots)
Tangle teaser (TK Maxx have a few funky ones at the moment)
Nice scarf / gloves etc?
Scrunchies (Primark have nice satin ones in the Andrew whatshisface range)
Clip on selfie / ring light thing? (In fact, B&M have large ring lights for about £8)

earlydoors42 · 12/10/2020 20:19

This is all brilliant - thank you all very much! Off to investigate all these ideas.

@ShaunaTheSheep I didn't even notice the hand sanitizer covers! Just ordered one thanks!

I am going to start online and see if I still need to venture into a city (I'm in the north so it's all a bit covid-y).

I’ve got a 16 year old and buy jewellery, usually from places like Etsy otherwise she ends up with tat and nothing special.

Nothing particularly expensive but it means more, recently for her 16th I bought this, a key represents opening the door to the future
