Got chicken thighs out the freezer saturday morning. Went into labour. Would u cook them tonight? They've been in the fridge obviously.

Nope

Once food has been defrosted, eat it within 24 hours

I would though, well casseroled in the oven until brown and crisp on top - yum - don't throw them OP I'll have them!

RandomMess · 12/10/2020 15:08

Yes as they could well have taken longer than 24 hours to defrost (or is that just my fridge)?

dementedpixie · 12/10/2020 15:10

If its anything like my fridge they would have taken about 2 days to defrost in the first place! Yes they should be fine to use today

TheTeenageYears · 12/10/2020 15:17

If they were in the fridge to defrost rather than on the side in the kitchen then yes, it's very likely that they wouldn't have been defrosted until last night in the fridge anyway.

Congratulations if the going into labour delay in using mean's you've had a baby. I also hope if that's the case that you have no intention of cooking said chicken thigh's yourself.

MegaClutterSlut · 12/10/2020 15:21

I would, they probably didn't fully defrost until sometime yesterday anyway

OhToBeASeahorse · 12/10/2020 15:23

I got them out on the side Sat morning then put them in the fridge pretty quickly when I realised.

I was going to roast them.

Thanks, currently feeding 2 day old DD!

I would, they would only have defrosted yesterday in my fridge.

Love that you have presumably just had a baby, congratulations! Get a take away!

movingonup20 · 12/10/2020 15:24

Saturday? Of course it's Monday as long as they were in the fridge since Saturday

TabithaTadpole · 12/10/2020 15:37

I'd say fine too, but I hope you're not doing the cooking!
Congrats on your baby Flowers

LuckyAmy1986 · 12/10/2020 15:50

Yes. Anything that defrosts in my fridge takes 2 days anyway!

And congratulations!
