They must have meant one of these. Although it's not a pedal stall that I'd want to be put on.

Oh my god! I opened this thinking "oh we had a pedal stool in the kitchen when I was little".

It was PEDESTAL my mum was saying pedestal for the tall stool in the kitchen. Makes so much sense now. Why did I not wonder why there were no pedals involved with that stool?

A pedal stool is a real thing though too, something to do with pianos

BobbinThreadbare123 · 12/10/2020 15:13

Try your 'upmost' to Google it and find out Grin

In the comedy The IT Crowd in one episode they made fun of someone who used the term pedal stool but she got her revenge when one of them used the term 'damp squid' instead of 'damp squib'.

en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/pedal_stool

So while in lots of cases it will be mistaken pedestal, a pedal stool is also a thing

FelicityPike · 12/10/2020 15:37

Ahh but does it match your Chester draws?
(That irritates the bejesus out of me)

GlassInEachHand · 12/10/2020 15:41

Euston we have a problem, is one that I saw yesterday.

UselessTrees · 12/10/2020 15:55

I saw someone on FB lamenting that their children would miss doing 'chuck a treat' at Halloween this year. Makes more sense than 'trickle treat', I suppose.

To be fair ‘chuck a treat’ works for 2m social distancing 😂
