DS very tired 2 days after flu vaccine

Hi
DS (2 months away from being 4 years old) is very tired this morning and has fallen asleep (hasn't napped for well over 1 year)

He's alert enough when awake although clearly sleepy. Temperature was 37.4 on checking 30 mins ago.

He has his flu vaccine spray on Saturday.

Is this little side effects?

(I get very anxious when he's unwell and I don't know what it is)

My daughter was very sleepy last year after hers - it’s one of the common side effects.

I'm sure it means that the vax is triggering a response. They're common side effects. I felt grotty after mine a week ago.

Yes it will just be doing its thing I imagine! The pharmacy told me when I had my jab this time that it takes two weeks to actually work against flu, I actually felt crap for a week after my jab and had a terrible upset stomach about five days after as well.

Thank you
(Not looking forward to mine now!)

@PaperMonster I hope you don't mind me tagging you. How sleepy is very sleepy? Aside from a 15 min wake up (when he was happy and alert but tired) he's been napping for 4 hours now

@trunumber she was 8 and went to bed early that evening and slept for about 13 hours before I had to wake her up to come to the doctors as I had an appointment (the GP even commented on how poorly she looked and took her temp). She then slept on and off the rest of the day, slept all night and then went back to school the following morning.

Thanks so much paper, that's really really helpful
