What did you give neighbours when they married?

My neighbours just got married. We've lived next to them for 5 years, on chatting terms and take in each other's parcels. What would you give them?

OP posts:

A card. Maybe a bottle of wine.

Hyperfish101 · 12/10/2020 07:13

Bottle of champagne and a card?

(I gave my neighbours nothing though as we don’t like them 😂😂)

Jeremyironseverything · 12/10/2020 07:14

A vase. Mid price. They wouldn't have known whether it was expensive or cheap.

Nothing, they've signed a contract - would you give them a present if they switched Gas providers?

Frownette · 12/10/2020 07:18

I don't know the blokes to the left (only to say hello to), so wouldn't know if they got married.

To the right, bottle of champagne.

Good to know the joy police are out in full force today!

OP a card and bottle of champagne would be lovely!

elQuintoConyo · 12/10/2020 08:02

Card and booze.

niki26 · 12/10/2020 08:08

We got money from both sets of neighbours - towards the new bathroom we were wanting to install! Although they did actually come to our wedding as we all get on so well!

TwoZeroTwoZero · 12/10/2020 08:17

Nothing. It wouldn't occur to me to do so. We know them as well and talk to them (well, the husband anyway; the wife's very shy) all the time.

Yqui · 12/10/2020 08:22

I'd just say congratulations or give a card.

Ray of sunshine you are! OP I would give a card and some alcohol.

Echo previous posters; champagne/good chocolates, and a card.

Our neighbour called round last week and dropped off a box of biscuits as a thank you for taking in their parcels. They've lived opposite for less than a year. Really kind gesture from them.

BashfulClam · 12/10/2020 11:03

I got mine a card. Wasn’t at the wedding so no gift. I got a card back for out wedding.

Tellmeimcrazy · 10/05/2023 09:24

Nothing if I wasn't invited to the wedding
