Sunday night, my DH is watching football. I like coming on here and reading funny things people say.

What's the worst text you have sent to someone by accident.

I will start.

Once I wanted to dump a lad I was seeing and he was quite emotional and immature and a bit of a fucking leech actually and always getting me to pick up the bill. I loved on my own and he lived with his mum.

I wrote a text to my mate and said he was too immature, too emotional and I was getting fucked off with him and could she help me later send him a nice text that wouldn't upset him too much.

I said a bit aswell about him being tight.

I sent it to him. As soon as I pressed send I felt my stomach do that little drop when you realise.

He text back, well at least I know why you are dumping me

I was mortified. I felt terrible but it was done then at least.

I got asked out my friend (who I didn’t fancy) and I text him that I was already busy that night.
Then I text my friend to tell her- ‘oh god, can’t believe Paul just asked me out, what is he thinking, I lied and told him I’m busy, I’d never go out with him blah blah’

Yep, sent it to him and not my friend.

I sent a message to my dsughter telling her not to open the door it was my x

My husband once texted me asking about a surprise party. Text was meant for my friend. It was my surprise party :-)

WhatsApp group chats are also the work of the devil. A few times I’ve read a text on a group chat that was obviously meant to only be sent to one specific person- especially when the sender is slagging off someone else who’s in the group.

Not one I sent but I received one from my dad meant for his wife. I’m still scarred, 10 years later

I sent a slightly naughty text intended for DH to my mother

I was on a very long train journey home from visiting family with my sister who was being an annoying twat the whole time.

Towards the end of the journey I text my husband to say which station to collect me from and included a major rant about my sister.

Then had a slow-mo moment of horror as sisters phone beeped and she read the text as I’d sent it to her in error - awkward!

My sister thought she sent a text to me once, she had slept with her colleagues boyfriend (long story, drunk etc) and wanted help to know how to best tell her. She sent it to her colleague. ...solved the problem of how to tell her at least.

My husband also (before we met of course) was on overseas holiday with his then girlfriend. He (thought he) sent his mate at home a text saying he thought they'd probably break up when they got home, holiday wasn't going well. Sent it to her. Had to get a new hotel room, but still had to sit on long haul flight on way home next to each other.

I sent my friend a text saying 'I finally hooked up with the guy downstairs, wooo!'. But sent it to the guy downstairs

My ex -H sent me a message meant for his mistress.
It was funny trying to watch him explain it away.

Left him shortly after and it was the best thing that ever happened to me!

I sent a slightly naughty text intended for DH to my mother

Oh lord! I did similar, but I sent it to a good friend whose name is similar to my husband. For context, she’s a lesbian and nearly shit herself because she thought it was meant for her, unlike she spotted the spelling difference, as I had said “my darling Mr Delicious...” Much embarrassment for me and lots of winding up from our group of friends.

Not quite the same but I accidentally dialled a girl who had been getting on my tits while slagging her off, saying she looked like a baked bean.

In my defence she was awful and looked like a baked bean (face- she was skinny)

I sent a text to DP who was due home from working away, talked about date night sexy time, said I loved him, fancied him, you get the picture.
Got a text back from my manager saying 'was that message meant for me?'
I nearly quit my job, years later me and my manager still laugh about it

Meant to text DH about my manager having 'fucked off upstairs of course' leaving me alone covering shopfloor on my own for hours...sent it to manager himself. Bit of an awkward conversation 5 minutes later but got away with it!

When I was in 6th form I had a major crush on one of my classmates, that proper stomach flip, cant stop thinking about them kind of crush. He was in an english class with my friend and I text her to ask her to let me know if he had come in that day (stalker style ), only I sent it to him.
Still cringe 15 years later!

When I was 16 I went to a dance school and was texting another dancer about arranging parents to give us lifts etc, and then I got a very graphic text from her which was clearly for her boyfriend! Mortifying, especially at that age, and we didn't really know each other well enough to laugh about it. Funnily enough she then said she was sick and couldn't come to class that night.

I sent a sweary message to DH, telling him to stop fucking weeding my garden, and calling him a fucking menace for pulling up my seedlings.

I got one back saying Haha, sorry, which sent me into another rant.

I’d sent the messages to my manager. I only realised when he pointed out that it might not be him I was cross with.

Not a text, but a friend found out about his wife’s affair when she pocket called him whilst with the other man

Very recently I got an email from my neighbour telling me about street issues. I meant to forward to DH saying check out what the twat is saying now but hit reply accidentally. Give him his due, he laughed.

I actually can't repeat the text I accidentally sent to a friend as it was so rude

He had the same name as the guy I was seeing so was next to him in my phone book. It was the rudest text I've ever sent telling my love what I would like to do to him

Of course friend was in the car with a few mates and read it out.
