It’s just above my cleavage, appeared about a week ago!

It’s quite hard and doesn’t move when I press it

It's a mole. Quick to appear though the rest of your skin looks quite sub damaged. You could get it checked by your GP

Nicolastuffedone · 11/10/2020 15:23

Definitely have it checked out.

Mydarlingsleepthief · 11/10/2020 15:23

Are moles not brown though?

It could be anything, most options quite harmless.
Not all moles are pigmented.
If in doubt, get it checked out in RL.

You should get it checked out as it is a new mole that has suddenly appeared. It is very unlikely to be anything sinister but it is best to be safe. Nodular melanoma can be a unpigmented, dome shaped mole, the exact opposite of what most people think melanoma looks like. It is not common and most new moles are totally harmless so don't worry about it but do get it checked.

So I saw doctor today who said it’s an age spot and nothing at all to worry about. I came home and obviously googled age spots, and it doesn’t look anything like one Confused

Has anyone else has similar?

Can you get a referral to a dermatologist?

Mydarlingsleepthief · 16/10/2020 16:55

Yes I will do, that could take weeks though and I’m a bit pissed off that he brushed it off as an age spot without even properly examining it. Just from looking on google it’s apparent it’s not an age spot!

It’s raised, and sometimes a bit itchy.

AnyFucker · 16/10/2020 16:55

Yes, I had one of those.

I saw the doc about it and was told it was a very low grade, slow growing lesion (not malignant).

It dropped off after a few months

Leimarel · 16/10/2020 16:58

If your GP had an inkling this was a malignant lesion, there is no way he would have dismissed your concerns. Please don't worry.

Mydarlingsleepthief · 16/10/2020 16:58

You you didn’t need to have it removed @AnyFucker?

I’m sure it’s nothing, I need to step away from google Grin

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 16/10/2020 17:02

No, it fell off by itself.

Of course, I am not a doctor and haven't seen your mole. I am saying that not everything is malignant. If you have had it examined, try to relax.

MiniMum97 · 18/10/2020 00:57

if you are not happy, get a second opinion. Agree it's not an age spot which would make me concerned if I were in your position that the doctor had not correctly identified it.

The doctor you saw may well be correct, but doctors make mistakes like anyone, and when you see a doctor all you are doing is seeking a medical opinion. If you are not happy with that opinion for any reason, seek another one.
