What’s your favourite photo taken in 2020?

Most of us have been stuck close to home all year, with little to no international travel and “forced” to appreciate all the more what is on our doorstep.

I was lucky to manage a road trip an hour or so from my home, and took this photo, which I was delighted with.

This was one of the sunsets during lockdown. It's been a bad year for my family (aside from covid) we have had 2 major bereavements. Then lockdown and all the associated down points of that. This sunset was a happy point. I stood looking over the garden and felt at peace, that for all the bad or sad things that had happened, it is after all, still a beautiful world.

While I was out for a run on a beautifully sunny day. The scene just seemed so quintessentially English countryside

@CormoranStrike Ha! Elephant and normal don’t normally go together, I’ll give you that! We live so close to the zoo, if the wind is the right direction and the lion is roaring we can hear him in the garden!! We are annual pass holders and go all the time so it felt like a little slice of normal!!!!

A 5am trip to the sea, just after lockdown restrictions eased a bit.

Beautiful Warkworth - I managed a week’s holiday to Northumberland in August, when it looked like things had turned a bit of a corner.

Starling with iridescent plumage - spent entirety of lockdown stoned, in the garden and got back into photography after a very long break. Still my best selling image and went on to illustrate a whole book with abstract and nature photos!

I like winter, so most of my favourites (that don’t heavily feature newborn dd2 and her big sister) are from Jan/Feb/Mar.

Cows taken walking DD1 to school early on a January morning. Swan taken on an early lockdown walk along a local river. Long-tailed tits on the bird feeder in our garden - i have a particular soft-spot for the one that is festively plump.

I love the photograph of your Dear Dogs - they're adorable, comical and I'm sure they do, as you say, make you very happy.

The view from our house is stunning no matter the weather. But this is my favourite view, a low fog in the glen. Every time I see it my ds knows i will take a photo of it.
