Most of us have been stuck close to home all year, with little to no international travel and “forced” to appreciate all the more what is on our doorstep.

I was lucky to manage a road trip an hour or so from my home, and took this photo, which I was delighted with.

I can't share it but I have a lovely one of ds's birthday early in the year before the virus hit. Him and his friends all with their arms around each other and having a great time. It feels so long ago.

Hard to pick a favourite, but I've been lucky enough to spend a good bit of time out on a boat this summer, these are a couple of the best;

I have 2 faves, Mersea Island- this was when it was incredibly hot 🥵 so we went to the beach around 7:30pm to miss the hot sun and people! It was so quiet and I took this photo of my girls just sitting chatting

Colchester Zoo- had been unable to go for so long as it was closed then limited tickets, we went at 3 so missed a lot of the crowds and we sat and watched the elephants who were in their pool and then one came over to say hello and followed us as we walked down the path! This was the first normal thing we did and was a lovely feeling

I had DS2 in March. Couldn't possibly choose one! Hundreds of photos of baby, baby with his brother, breastfeeding pics (how cute are they when feeding!!). Photos of Chessington when we thought 'sod it let's go' back in July. My favourite is possibly the one of the boys in a restaurant after restrictions were lifted a bit. DS1 is looking cherubic and the baby is laughing!

Out on a walk locally just as lockdown began. I love this one.

@CormoranStrike What a fabulous photo, love the heart shaped nose!

CormoranStrike · 11/10/2020 07:47

Thank you @userxx

There are some fabulous pics here. The Henry hoovers from @WalkingInTheAir13 are amazing, while I am grinning at the most normal thing @BerryPieandCustard did involved an elephant!

Beautiful pic OP. I have a few. Had a city break last weekend in Sydney, the view from the cafe I had breakfast at never gets old. The grasshopper was in my garden & the pigeon at the bus stop.

I can’t post mine as it has me and other people in it. But I went to visit DS who was teaching in Japan in January and had the opportunity to sit in on a couple of his classes. One was with these lovely retired ladies who wanted to meet me. They were so friendly and asked if we could all have a photo taken together at the end. It was such a nice afternoon and I loved meeting them.

CormoranStrike · 11/10/2020 07:58

I also took this one of my DDs (dear dogs), and I makes me happy.

Oh, they are lovely - I had to google them 'Seidenhuhn' is the term I need.

Beautiful Cornwall.

Although we had to laugh and commend Google photos on its sense of humour when its algorithm picked as our 'highlight' of 2020 a picture of the leaky pipes under our sink.

Two of my favourites, my actual favourites contain pictures of my dd's. These are some of my favourite places to go walking locally.

My very favourite has DS and his sports team celebrating a county medal together. They were at peak fitness, had beaten stronger teams and were loving the chance to compete together.
However, the ones I can share are of our new caravan- gave us time away from home, our own facilities and lots of fresh air. The other is of a lovely marina in Huntingdon, it was peaceful and sunny.
