But I just don't have the will power!

I stopped buying in (much) junk food but DH just goes to the local shop and buys it there instead. This week he has purchased 8 twirls and 2 family bags of sweets!

Where can I purchase extra willpower please???

Just start small. We have junk in the house because there’s DH and 3 kids who can all eat a fairly balanced diet with treats and still be thin. I however just look at carbs or chocolate and put on a stone.
As I have no will power I am still eating stuff just halving the portion. I am then trying to fast as long as I can a couple of days a week. I’ve lost a stone since June (which did include some quarantine weight!) by just doing that really and upping exercise slightly from none to some. Sometimes I’ll not have tea if I’ve had a slice of toast mid afternoon in the hope that the calories cancel each other out!

I feel your pain. My DH doesnt really support me with this mind of thing - he buys so much but just says dont eat it. Not that simple!!

Sorry, posted too soon.

I don’t have the answer. Perhaps talk to him further and say how you feel? Ask him to not buy so much crap?

I need to do this too. Often keeping really busy works for me... I eat when I’m bored. Which is a lot as I have a 3 month old who usually will only sleep on me. If I know I’m going to be stuck under a sleeping baby chocolate looks very appealing!

Have you asked him not to buy eight twirls?

Taswama · 10/10/2020 19:53

Can you persuade him to only buy what he is going to eat immediately? So one or two twirls is fine, but not enough for a week.

Ohdoleavemealone · 10/10/2020 20:00

I can ask him but he just tells me I am beautiful and don't need to worry about losing weight which is beside the point because I feel so crappy and bloated.
He doesn't always buy that many twirls but they are chocolate orange ones that sell out fast. He has also bought 3 family sharing size bags of crips this week too though that he didn't need too.

Keeping busy does help as I eat out of boredom. Today though I was up at 6.30am. HAve cleaned the bathroom, done the ironing, two wash loads, baking with the kids and crafts and then sat down bored for 3 hours. Now the sweets are beckoning!
