New USA President

Evening all. Just shooting the breeze with DH, and talking about the shitshow in America. DH said, just for shits and giggles, imagine that Trump had died, and we had to send somebody over, to take over the role of President. Who would you send? I struggled, and came up with Peter Kay, then Andy Burnham.......Can anyone do better?? Obviously lighthearted

Years ago in Ireland when martin sheen was studying there apparently people kept asking would he run for president on Ireland!! So, I'd vote Martin Sheen. Personally I'm gutted Dwayne Johnson didn't run (The Rock!)

ErrolTheDragon · 10/10/2020 00:28

It has to be someone born in the USA, so we could of course send them Boris Johnson.

JamieLeeCurtains · 10/10/2020 00:28

Oh gosh, I thought you were actually being serious there for a minute, until you said you were being lighthearted.

jed bartlett is the best president the USA has never had

@Butterer

The Chuckle Brother of your choice. Neither could be worse than Trump.

Even the dead one could do a better job.
Whatthefunk · 10/10/2020 00:32

Come on now! It's clearly lighthearted, and in this game they don't have to be American. The more random, the better

Barbara Woodhouse is a good call, some of them need a good stern telling off!

Sassy306 · 10/10/2020 00:39

Margaret Thatcher 😂

Whatthefunk · 10/10/2020 00:41

@Butterer

If death doesn't bar someone from being nominated, then I'm going further than the Chuckle or Patton brothers, and upping my game to Barbara Woodhouse.

What's that thing called where you don't hear of someone for years and then suddenly you hear about them all the time?! I was just talking about Barbara Woodhouse yesterday after not having thought about her in decades!
nancy75 · 10/10/2020 00:44

Even Piers Morgan would be better than Trump

Whatthefunk · 10/10/2020 00:45

Maybe....

I nominate Helen Mirren.

ineedaholidaynow · 10/10/2020 00:58

I think my dog could do a better job than Trump

Whatthefunk · 10/10/2020 00:58

Helen Mirren....Interesting choice.
A little woke, for my taste....DCI Tennison perhaps

Robert Redford. Very dishy and he would look the part. I'd vote for him.

GabsAlot · 10/10/2020 01:05

Homer Simpson

Well, every time I read Trump I think I’m reading turnip. I think a turnip could do a better job and I need to go to Specsavers.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/10/2020 09:03

The mention of a turnip reminds me of Baldrick. He, and his cunning plans, would be an improvement.
