How are you making Halloween special this year?

I’m itching to get the decorations out of the cupboard but I know the usual parties and events won’t be happening Sad

I don’t know how truck or treating will look or if it’s even allowed?! I’m thinking of leaving some shop wrapped sweets for the kids to take. Have a couple of friends in ds’s school bubble over and play games.

What’s everyone else doing?

Oh....and another thing. This year I am taking a huge old burgundy blanket and we are cutting slits in it and out of hazel sticks and pea sticks we are making one of these....

I will roam about the woods and onto the road and scare the traffic in the morning and in the evening commute. Where we live is on a road in the middle of woods just like this video, but it is more scarey because there are hillocks, rocks and dark folds that make it very spookey. My children are in their twenties now and they still join in.

I really am not joking.

This year? One word.

Oh...even better.

One of my kids has just reminded me that this year Halloween is on a Saturday. That actually means more traffic all day long than just commuters and school run on weekdays. Bring it on.

Love it when they actually slow down with the brakes because they cannot believe their eyes. The werewolf in 2014 was particularly scary (and sweaty under the costume because it was unusually warm I recall that year).

We are having onesies instead of costumes, going to decorate the house in the morning, I have some Halloween themed games like pin the nose on the witch and spider ring toss, and we are going to play duck apple, bit of Halloween themed baking (just cup cakes with googly eyes) then a piniata in the shape of a witch and watching the hotel Transylvania trilogy .
