Clip on veneers

I wondered if you could help me figure out if the company online called wow now smile is legit for clip on veneers.

I am embarrassed by my teeth but cannot afford dental treatment to make them look lovely.

Also if anyone has every purchased some I would love to hear where you bought them and your experiences.

The videos online for this one look promising but they are a year or two old.

I am wary of many scam companies out there.

Would be super grateful for your help.

I have no experience of this company, but some of the 'after' photos remind me of the episode of Friends when Ross gets his teeth whitened. Maybe they look better in real life ...

Bickles · 09/10/2020 14:02

Avoid having anything done to your teeth by anyone but a registered dentist/ hygienist/ therapist.

CrazyPuddin · 09/10/2020 15:30

They do a natural colour too apparently. I’d be horrified with bright white teeth.

Nothing is done to your teeth you just wear them over the top.

Sounds amazing for plaque control and oral health!Angry
Honestly OP, save your money, they will be awful.

PicsInRed · 09/10/2020 17:29

Now that makes my teeth itch.

Heatherjayne1972 · 09/10/2020 18:43

Honestly?
Save your money. The ones I’ve seen look awful and fake
If you need something done save up and get a registered dentist to do it

ImaSababa · 09/10/2020 19:09

OMG they look like Jim Carrey's teeth in The Mask.

CrazyPuddin · 09/10/2020 19:12

😂 obviously I’ve been looking at a more natural shade.

That bright white is so fake looking.

But normals shades gotta look better than bad teeth right?

No, they will look shit and probably damage your teeth. They will act as a plaque trap

You need to go to a dentist and get your teeth sorted.

henrykissingher · 09/10/2020 19:20

They look awful in real life

WhentheDealGoesDown1 · 09/10/2020 19:23

You can get them from Amazon from about £8 😁

DishRanAwayWithTheSpoon · 09/10/2020 19:24

They are 150! You can afford to throw away 150 quid on some shitty plastic veneers but cant see a dentist?

CheeryAlmond · 09/10/2020 19:43

The comfortable mentality crops up time after time on Mumsnet.

NHS dentists won't do anything remotely regarded as cosmetic to teeth. Trying to get an NHS appointment at the minute is like getting blood out of a stone too.
Privately, it can cost tens of thousands. It's not always easy for a person to save up that amount of money, if at all.

OP I've seen the clip in veneers in a natural shade and they look fine. It gave my friend a fantastic confidence boost about her crooked teeth (she couldn't afford to have them fixed.)

TheSunshineTrain · 09/10/2020 19:58

Hello! I got clip in veneers through insta smile this year, they were made to fit my teeth as I had some gaps! I got them in natural shade and I love them! And it saved so much as it was 6000 quoted at the dentist!

TheSunshineTrain Those look good!

I'm sure the 'plaque trap' can be avoided with careful management.

CrazyPuddin · 09/10/2020 20:35

Need that smile look like a better company. Lots of videos and pictures. Still pretty expensive though.
I really cannot afford private dental costs for cosmetic work. Plus due to Covid no dentists are offering appointments for non urgent care.

DishRanAwayWithTheSpoon · 10/10/2020 12:36

@CheeryAlmond obviously the nhs dont do cosmetic work. Thats like asking for a boob job on the nhs. People expect an awful lot of nhs dentistry

If its cosmetic work you need your teeth really arent bad. It'd be better to save for a course of whitening or something.

If they are crooked your going to have to put something really bulky on your teeth to get them to look straight which is not good, its not spreading the forces out evenly. You will need it to go down to the gums to make it look even remotely realistic and thats going to traumatise your gums, trap plaque against your gums etc. Theres so much you have to take into when carrying out cosmetic work thats simply not going to happen. Whats the wear going to be like on the opposing teeth? If you do both arches then your going to have to change the bite, which is complex and if done wrong can fuck up your bite for life

On their actual website all the cases look shite. The gums look red and inflamed. The teeth look like plastic blocks.

Really OP i understand you are embarassed but they really arent a good idea. Once damage is done to teeth it cant be undone, and these could really mess up your teeth

FrancoBranco · 10/10/2020 12:51

What is actually the problem with your teeth? Are they chipped, yellow, missing? We might be able to suggest something else to help.

In general though never skimp on your teeth. Get the best treatment money can buy. You'll use them every single day for 50 plus more years so on a 'cost per use' any money you spend will be reduced to fractions of a penny. You need them to work well, they are not purely decorative.
