so my dd is 3.5 years old, she has a CONSTANT cough which gets worse when shes back at nursery. Inhalers dont work for her so shes been prescribed montelukast, 2 weeks ago Blush and I'm yet to try them because quite frankly I'm to scared after hearing all the horror stories. Shes going for some allergy testing tomorrow so I'll also speak with them also but can anybody share some success stories with this drug? I'm at my wits end. Daffodil

My DS was in a clinical trial to see how effective it was as a 'blocker' for toddlers a few years ago. He was maybe two and a half at the time, and had been admitted to hospital with asthma for four months in a row when they asked if we'd be interested in participating in the trial. He's not had an attack since, and as presumably he was on the drug part of the trial, our GP has prescribed it for him ever since the trial ended. Now he has tablets, when he was little it was powder that I put in yoghurt. He doesn't take it regularly, just as a 'blocker' if he gets a cough or bad cold. He has seven days worth of tablets from day one if symptoms. So for us it's been brilliant.

So pleased it has worked for you all. She had her first dose yesterday. I'm giving it 4 weeks. Fingers crossed!
