Just found out my contract isn't being extended and feeling rubbish

Just that really. I've been covering a maternity contract and my lovely bosses were trying really hard to find me something else at the firm I'm in but HR haven't got anything. I knew it was a long shot but still feel very shit about it. I loved the job and company and really hoped my contract might be extended. Urgghhh.

Oh, that's disappointing. I realise it doesn't pay the bills, but is it a comfort or confidence boost at least that they wanted to keep you on?

Yes, definitely and they've said if anything does change then they'll contact me but such a shitty time to be without a job. Bloody covid! Were it not for that then I'd be able to stay.
