Wagyu Steak - a relevation!

I never did think much of when my husband or other people would bang on about this type of steak - I thought they were overegging the pudding about it!

But we got a box of it the other day and OMG it is insanely tasty.

I'm fearful that I won't be able to go back to normal steak now lol! It's ruined me!

Anyone else come to the wagyu bandwagon late in life? I can't believe I didn't try it sooner.

It's delicious and quite hard to fuck up because of the fat content. We get amazing wagyu burgers from my butcher.

I had some on honeymoon in Japan, it was like eating butter. I daren't try it again as I don't trust it to live up to that! Maybe you can persuade me...

I must be one of the only people in the world who thinks it's disgusting. I had been dying to try it for ages and was so so disappointed when I did, it was claggy and the texture made me heave

@wewillmeetagain no way! It's like the most tender, tasty thing you'll ever have. My 7 year old eats if blue, like his dad!!

I think you should try again. We struck gold with the first place we tried (well, DH did, he was trying to persuade me it was actually that good) and the meat turned out to be £6 a steak, which was insane value for money even if it wasn't this incredible steak. Some place up north does it (they're in Yorkshire I think, taste tradition or something) and it's packed fresh into vacuum packs so you can put it in the fridge because of course, no one can have that much of a good thing ALL the time.

I have to give it to the DH that in this case, he was absolutely right...

I hate fat on meat and this meat looks like fat with a tiny bit of meat in it. There is no way I could stomach it 🤮
