It's miserable outside, everywhere is closed and we're about to head into yet another lockdown. How on earth are you planning to entertain your small people this autumn and winter??

My 10 month old hates the rain cover and the sling so walks are now a complete disaster and obviously he's still too little to toddle and splash in puddles.

He doesn't enjoy just entertaining himself indoors for long so I do try and get out at least once a day but I have no idea where to take him now it's so wet and grey.

There's 1 soft play open near us, but I'm not holding my breath it will be open for much longer . We have no museums or suitable indoor play areas open.

I honesty can't think of anything to do with him over the next few months when the weathers looking so bleak. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We’re going to use the paddling pool as a ball pit in our spare room.
Also, DS has just started crawling and so we’re getting a pop up play tent with a tunnel for him to crawl through.

Thanks for the ideas. A paddling pool as a ball pit sounds like a good plan hopefully he finds it entertaining and your DS enjoys it too.

Im still at a loss as to what else to try though, I feel like it's going to be a very long few months.

It doesn't rain every day so walks aren't totally off the cards. My little one was around 9 months at the start of lockdown. We rotated her toys so we had a 'theme' as such each day so we were doing something different. So one day we had all the balls out, ball pool, sensory ball etc. The next day we had the musical instruments etc.
Also did online baby classes, you can also find them on YouTube which gives you a bit of structure to sing different songs and do the actions.
I loved autumnal and winter walks last year with her in the pram all wrapped up. A nice fresh, crisp morning! Travel cup of coffee 😊
