Supermarket trolleys suddenly everywhere?

Is it just here? Over the last few weeks our town seems to be full of abandoned supermarket trolleys. We're not a "naice" area and the odd one does appear from time to time but DH and I went for an hour long stroll at the weekend and counted 11! I've reported them all to Trolleywise and they've collected the ones belonging to their shops but that leaves a couple behind.

But why are they suddenly so prevalent? Is it happening elsewhere?

@KenAdams

Students?
Was going to say the exact sameGrin

If it’s not students then it’s probably the same group of weirdos hitting all your local supermarkets and stealing trolleys🤷🏼‍♀️ Yes, low lives like this exist. I saw on Twitter that a couple had visited around 20 train stations just to steal the disabled ramps - they would probably do something as dumb as stealing and dumping trolleys too

Nope not here. Admittedly u have use a coin for the trolley. Only, trolley that is ever seem is one used by an elderly couple who do not like the local supermarket carpark. There was many post on our local facebook page until the culprit was found out and now two gents who work in the Supermarket bring the shopping to their car for them.

I think there would be a town melt down if they saw as many trollies as you did!
