Lost half the weight, how to lose the rest?

Hello,

My weight shot up after having my children, for a variety of reasons (mostly overeating, huge portions 'treats' after a rough day). Youngest is now two and I decided in June that I needed to lose 5 stone, which is a third of my body weight (I was 15st, obese). I am 5"4 so not anywhere near able to carry that kind of weight.

I have PCOS which has always made keeping my weight at a healthy level is difficult.

June- mid September I managed to lose 3 stone. I calorie counted use MFP, walked loads (15000 -20000 steps a day average) and took Alli (a fat blocker). BMI went from 36 to 29. I have an injury at the moment that means I can't do any impactful exercise at all that won't be fixed without surgery - should having this next year sometimes.

Last two weeks the weight loss has really stalled. I'm stuck at 12 stone. I have bought a recumbent static bike to use at home which I can use safely and have started doing 45 minutes 3 times a week. I've shaved off calories where I can, I don't drink except for one (measured) glass of wine on a Friday night. I'm eating 3 meals a day, 1300-1400 calories. I count everything, including skimmed milk for coffee etc. Cold drinks are only water or the (very) occasional can of diet coke.

I'm also almost at the BMI now where I need to stop taking the Alli as you're not supposed to take it if your BMI is under 28. Mine is 28.8.

Anyone got any tips on how to kickstart the weight loss again? Slimming World etc don't work for me.

Keep doing what you are doing and don’t get disheartened. Often you will hit a plateau and nothing will shift for a while but that doesn’t mean it won’t.

Also drink plenty of water whilst exercising.

Thanks, to be honest I could up my water intake, I probably have 1 litre a day but that's not really enough!

Depends how quick you want to do it I suppose. Could try the fast 800 or 5:2? Low carb? Maybe start focusing on increasing your muscle mass which will burn more calories at rest.

I'm at this lull point too and I love how I look 3stone lighter but I still want to lose at least another stone but can't seem to concentrate on it as much.
