Does anyone else research places that they'll probably never live in?

I don't really have any strong desire to live abroad but I do love researching cities, which neighbourhoods to live in, where to eat and what to do there.

I'm currently looking at various areas of Brooklyn and Carrol Gardens, Park Slope or Williamsburg appeal. Bay Ridge looks good too.

Last week I was looking at Philadelphia. Chestnut Hill is beautiful.

I've also found myself looking at Munich and Berlin.

Does anyone else do this?

Yes, all the time - and I have looked in Brooklyn as well! One of my favourite pastimes is to go on to Right Move, go to maps and follow whole stretches of the British coastline to look at houses by the sea. My other recommendation is to subscribe to the Modern House's newsletter or follow them on FB. They are an estate agent.

I'm a bit obsessed with researching Singapore. I tell DP (what I consider to be) interesting facts about the place all the time. He looks at me like Hmm as we'll never, ever move there.

I went through a Singapore phase a few years ago. I still want to visit there for the food, and other things, but particularly the food.

I seem to have a U.S East Coast obsession at the moment. Brooklyn really appeals but I might look at Boston next.

Springquartet Thank you. I'll check out The Modern House.

No in that sense but I love a good rumble on Rightmove and looking at big houses regardless of location.

Is there a version of RM for other countries?
