But ds's school has told them that every homework and all mocks may be needed towards teacher assessment so they need ot keep their marks up etc.
Yes, dd has been told the same. Way to pile on the pressure!
DD has one subject with coursework which is due in November. They should have started work on it in April but started in September instead, so they're massively behind. They also have mocks at the same time as the coursework is due, and have been told to treat the exams as if they were the real thing. And they have been given revision checklists with tons of stuff that they haven't covered which they somehow need to learn before the mocks! DD will be fine, as she is very bright, has a supportive family and worked consistently through lockdown, but even she is feeling stressed about it all, so I imagine that there are many kids who are not coping well at all.
From what dd has said, it sounds like many of the teachers are starting to panic too - don't blame them, as it's a shit situation all round, but some of them aren't managing to hide their anxiety very well and it's starting to transfer to the kids.
We at least need a speedy announcement from the government about what's going to happen so that everyone knows what they're dealing with.
